Phones with big buttons and the big remote for the television and even voice-activated appliances can make a huge difference with how one "lives", or better put, "enjoys living". Imagine not having to get up to turn off the light or having to get up to turn the light on because you are unable to see the buttons on the remote control. How about just being able to control the lights and the television with one remote? Well, it is all possible with the smart technology that is available and more affordable today.
Talking thermostats and talking caller id's are just getting your feet wet. You can even wear a neat little necklace in these days called an IdentityPal that can store critical information for children, pets, or the elderly.
Pendants can be worn that remotely activates the home alarm system which then dials out to emergency personnel or to a family member for help. Grandma no longer has to worry about feeling unsecure when she's alone after you equip her home with this "Hi-Tech" gear! I personally would not rely 100% on technology and its gadgets. But it sure beats the odds of not having them at all when it comes to life-saving situations.
