"Nanny Cams", also known as covert cams or spy cams, are cameras that are used to secretly spy on babbysitters or home care personnel. There has been a buzz around the Internet and from the national media about the abuse from family caregivers and nannys.
Surprisingly, this product line of cameras come in sizes as small as a postage stamp which would allow you to hide it almost anywhere. Yeah, James bond action! Other covert cameras are built into some ordinary product like a a motion sensor, a toy teddy bears nose, or an alarm clock that will continue to function normally as an alarm clock.
Covert cameras will definitely be useful if you suspect something going on at home or at the office in your absence. With the right choice of camera, you will not have to run any wires from the camera itself, but you will need to connect the base unit to a television or monitor to view.
Spy cameras can be seen in action with MSNBC Dateline "To Catch a Predator". The house they use to lure these subjects in to, is loaded with covert cameras.
